Open Leadership Position in State Level MNA for 2025 Election

Announcing State level MNA leadership opportunities for this year’s 2025 election.

The nominee pool shall be comprised of all joint MNA/ANA members in good standing; have been a member for at least three (3) years and has three (3) years of current leadership experience with the MNA District or with MNA committees.

Candidate nomination packages must be endorsed by their respective District President who verifies the three (3) years of current District or MNA leadership experience.

MNA members who choose to be candidates must submit the current MNA Consent-to-Serve Form (see attached document) by NLT 11 July 2025 along with these three other related candidate materials:

 

  1. 200-words or less candidate statement addressing why the candidate is seeking the position and is qualified for the position (see attached document)
  2. Head & Shoulder JPEG photo within the last five (5) years is preferred
  3. Mini -Biographical Sketch addressing the requested content not to exceed five (5) pages in length.

  1. MNA Vice-President: Serves a 2-year term; 1/1/2026 – 12/31/2027.
  • Assume all duties of the president in the absence of the president
  • Serves as the Chairperson or Deputy Chairperson of the Nurse Celebration Committee
  • Serves as the liaison of the MNA BOD to the Maryland Association of Nursing Students.

 

  1. MNA Treasurer-Elect:Serves a three-year term. One year as Treasurer-elect (1/1/2026-12/31/2026), serves (2) two years as Treasurer (1/1/2027-12/31/2028).

Treasurer

  • Be accountable for the fiscal affairs of the Association.
  • Provide reports and interpretation of the Association’s fiscal condition as required.
  • Serve as chairperson of the Committee on Finance.
  • Conduct financial reconciliations at least quarterly.

The treasurer-elect shall:

  • Be responsible for all the duties and responsibilities of the treasurer in the event of the
  • treasurer’s absence or incapacity.
  • Serve and perform other duties as directed by the treasurer.
  • Assist with financial reconciliation at least quarterly. 

 

  1. MNA Members-At-Large Representativeto the ANA Membership Assembly for a 2-year term (1/1/2026 – 12/31/2027), a minimum of three candidates will be elected in 2025 for this position.

The nominee pool shall be comprised of all joint MNA/ANA members in good standing; have been a member for at least three (3) years and has three (3) years of current leadership experience with the MNA District or with MNA committees.

Candidate nomination packages must be endorsed by their respective District President who verifies the three (3) years of current District or MNA leadership experience. 

The elected Representative(s) shall serve a term of two (2) years or until a successor is elected.

 

  • Attend the annual ANA MA that will usually be a minimum of two (2) days, usually in June.
  • Check the ANA MA web site at least weekly once the MNA Representatives have been notified about the meeting.
  • Seek input from the MNA leadership at least monthly in the ninety (90) to one hundred twenty (120) days before the ANA MA convenes.
  • Participate in all MNA meetings/conference calls regarding proposed amendments to the ANA Bylaws and any other matter being addressed at the ANA Membership Assembly 
  • Be prepared to address verbally MNA’s position regarding proposed amendments to the ANA Bylaws, ANA dues policies, and any other policy matters being addressed at the ANA MA.
  • Attend the MNA Board of Director meetings as a guest in order to be informed regarding MNA’s position on nursing issues.
